Las novelas de Star Wars escritas por Timothy Zahn han alcanzado los cuatro millones de copias en global. Desde 1978 ha escrito cerca de setenta relatos y novelas cortas, veinte novelas y tres recopilaciones de relatos cortos. Ganó el premio a mejor novela en los Hugo Awards de 1984. Es célebre por siete novelas de Star Wars: Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command, Specter of the Past, Vision of the Future, Survivor’s Quest y Outbound Flight. Vive con su familia en la costa de Oregón.
